Sants-Montjuïc is a district in the southeast of Barcelona. Many of its attractions focus on the Parc de Montjuïc, which has museums, a castle, Olympic facilities and some great views overlooking the city. The district also contains the high-speed rail train station..
The biggest “sight” in Sants is by far the “Festa Major” festival in august, where the whole neighborhood changes and becomes a big festival area with decorations, music venues and a great atmosphere. Some may even claim that the Festa Major de Sants is even better than the more renowned Festa Major de Gràcia.
During the week-long feast, the traffic is cut off in several parts of the neighborhood, where multiple popular activities are organized outdoors, such as butifarrades, (gatherings where people drink chocolate), concerts, Sardanes, and Habaneres. The neighbors decorate the streets with allegorical themes.
